Polaris release Slingshot: Is it a bird, its it a plane...?

1 of 6

No, it’s a new three-wheeler from powersport giant Polaris,  the American firm that owns both the Victory and Indian motorcycles brands. They have today confirmed that their revolutionary three-wheeler, the Polaris Slingshot, will be making its European debut in the last quarter of 2015.

Already available in the States, the Slingshot has now been honed for the European market and claims to offer petrol-heads a completely new motoring experience.

It’s an innovative three-wheel vehicle with a high-strength steel space frame, a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine and sport-tuned suspension, an open cockpit and seating for two.

Slingshot Brand Manager for Polaris EMEA, Dario Baraggia, believes that customers in Europe will love the new three-wheeler. “Slingshot offers European customers something truly unique. It has exhilarating performance in a package that receives head-turning looks wherever it’s driven,” he says.

“The USA has already discovered the thrill of Slingshot, so much that it is currently sold out with production filling back orders. We predict a similar trend here in the EU and will therefore open a pre-order process to give the first customers a chance to secure the first units coming to the EU.”

No final specs, arrival date or pricing has been announced yet, but the USA versions cost $21,199 to $26,199 (£13,653 to £16,873).
