Captain America sells for $1.35 million

The legendary ‘Captain America’ Harley-Davidson from the 1969 movie Easy Rider, thumped its way to a whopping $1,350,000 – that’s £ 836,337 to us – as part of Profiles in History’s Hollywood Entertainment Memorabilia auction at the weekend. It’s claimed to be the highest price ever realised for a motorcycle at auction.
“After fierce bidding, we are so pleased that the buyer values this for the cultural icon that it is,” said Mike Eisenberg.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to benefit the American Humane Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of animals and children.
