Bike of the Day: Honda GL500 Silver Wing

Maybe it’s my age, but I do find this oddly alluring – right down to its white walls.

Oddball CX500-based tourer was never quite the ‘Junior GoldWing’ Honda had planned for it. 30 years on, though, it’s somehow got the, er, style of a ‘70s Cadillac Eldorado but with the practicality of a Deauville.

With a free donor bike and pile of spares thrown in it’s a great modern classic project and something of a bargain, too. Groovy baby!
