Online petition for stranded Sean Emmett gains support

An online petition calling for the UK Government to help get former British Superbike racer Sean Emmett returned to this country from Dubai has gained nearly 4000 signatures in just a few days.

Emmett, 43, has been trapped in Dubai since the death of this new bride who Abbie fell to her death from their hotel room balcony in February earlier this year while the pair were on their honeymoon. Her death has been treated as an accident and there were no suspicious circumstances yet the Dubai Police have retained Emmett’s passport preventing him from flying home.

Since then Emmett is reported to have spent his life savings paying for accommodation in Dubai, only a portion of which is covered by travel insurance.

The online petition now has almost 4000 signatures.
