Give up, scumbags: failed Italian job number two

An Italian motorcycle dealership has suffered a second failed theft attempt in six months.

CCTV footage shows four thieves spend three minutes breaking into an Aprilia showroom before fleeing.

The four are seen arriving on two scooters shortly after 11pm. One cuts through the shop’s metal shutters with a disc grinder while the others keep watch.  

Once inside, three struggle to break the steering lock of an RSV4 Factory before dropping the bike and leaving.

In Moto, on St James’s Road in Croydon, south London, was last targeted in September. In that attempt, staff fended off hammer wielding thieves in the middle of the day at the firm’s Ducati showroom, on the other side of the street.

The latest attack happened at around 11.10pm on March 3.

A member of staff said at In Moto: “They keep trying but they keep getting away with nothing.”

He said the RSV4 Factory was a “write-off” and several other bikes had been damaged.

September’s botched attempt caused around £2000 worth of damage.

A police spokesman said: “Police were called at about 11.10pm on March 3, to reports a group of men attempting to break into the shop.
 
“Police arrived shortly afterwards and the suspects dispersed in different directions, some on mopeds. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate or detain any of the suspects. There have been no arrests.”
