The beauty of car drivers sharing the road

My 20-year-old son was riding to work on his GN125 in December last year when a bloke in a lovely blue Zafira decided he was sick of waiting to turn right into a junction.

He pulled straight into my son and broke his femur, patela, tibia and fibula. He now has metal rods from his hip to his ankle and his kneecap has two screws holding it together.

The police were great as were the ambulance crew and hospital staffl. What I can’t get my head around is the justice system only giving him four points and a couple of hundred pounds fine. I take it car drivers have more rights than bike riders?

I’ve been riding since I was 16, followed my son around on my Thundercat and he was a really safe rider.

It’s a pity car drivers who don’t bother paying attention seem to get away with everything.
