Coast to coast charity tour

1 of 3

I’m currently in the process of arranging a tour in order to raise awareness and funds for the charity Cancer Research UK in July 2012.

In 2009, together with my two sons Anthony and Daniel, we rode over 2300 miles on small 125cc motorbikes around the UK from Leeds, taking in most of the country, all the way to Lands End and John O’Groats.

In the process we raised almost £2000 for the children’s charity, Cash for Kids and we had coverage by Radio Aire and the Yorkshire Evening Post.

This year we intend to ride from our home in Leeds to the furthest point east then across to the furthest point west. The tour will follow a route of coastal roads around Yorkshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Wales. We hope to touch Scarborough, Cromer, Great Yarmouth and Colchester to the East and St David’s and Bangor in the West.

In between, we will visit Cambridge, Oxford, Ross on Wye and St David’s before moving on to Aberystwyth and Bangor as well as many points in between, and as we travel we plan to collect donations along the way.

We chose the charity, Cancer Research UK because of the work they do to fight this disease and because I lost my father-in-law to it.

I have set up a link with Just Giving which is a safe and easy way to make donations.
