The cost of giving up

My other half bought a Harley-Davidson 1200 Sportster a while back and enjoyed the experience of riding it. However, that faded along with the British summer and she recently sold it on to a new home.

She rang her insurers, MCE and cancelled the insurance and expected to get a refund of her premiums. Almost two weeks later, she chased up the refund only to be told that she would have to wait up to two months, as they have to wait for her money being returned by the underwriters!

As far as I’m concerned, her contract was with MCE and she should get her money straight away. She didn’t make them wait two months for her premiums and I’m certain they would have had something to say if she’d tried!
