Simoncelli not forgotten

The reverberations from Marco Simoncelli’s tragic death last year are still being felt in his native Italy.

At a Serie A match between Napoli and Bologna on Sunday night, the home side presented his father Paolo, and mother Rosella with a number 58 shirt in his honour.

The ceremony came just days before a party to celebrate Marco’s 25th birthday on January 20 in his home town Rimini. Funds raised will go to the recently formed Fondazione Simoncelli.
