When it comes to motorcycle helmets, brands like Arai and Shoei are used to receiving all of the plaudits. Now there’s a new name to sit alongside them, Nexx.

This is the 10-year anniversary of Nexx helmets, during which time they have been quietly going about manufacturing top class helmets from their ISO 9001-certified facility near Porto, in Portugal. All Nexx helmets are ECE 22/05 approved (for European use) and DOT (for USA).

Nexx helmets are already a top seller in mainland Europe and are making a big impact in the USA. For 2012, Nexx have launched a brand new range of helmets in the UK.

MCN reviewed the Nexx XR1R Carbon in July 2011, with writer Dan Aspel concluding that it was ‘The Best Road Helmet I’ve Worn’. In addition to being one of the lightest motorcycle helmets available, weighing just 1200g, Dan commented that the XR1R Carbon has one of the widest viewing ports he’s seen on any helmet, has fantastic venting and has low noise levels. The Nexx XR1R Carbon is available from ForMotorbikes.com and
costs £299.95.

The first of the new 2012 range is the Nexx XR1R Diablo. Like the XR1R Carbon, the Diablo has a 100% carbon shell, but features patented noise and thermal insulation technology. Through a total of five layers; Coolmax tissues, an EPS liner system, carbon shell, sound-absorbing foam and optic leather, the Nexx XR1R Diablo keeps you cooler in summer and warmer in winter, at the same time as reducing noise levels. The Nexx XR1R Diablo is available now from ForMotorbikes.com and costs £349.95.

Nexx have also launched a new range of open face helmets. The Nexx X70 Core is a café racer helmet, with integrated sun visor. It weighs just 990g, comes in a range of colours and is available from ForMotorbikes for £169.95 .

Like the X70 Core, the X70 Groovy is an open-face lid, but with a full length, clear visor has been designed for riders looking for full wind protection. Again, the X70 Groovy comes in a variety of colours, weighs 1200g and costs £189.95 from ForMotorbikes.com.

In July, Nexx are launching a new adventure helmet, the Nexx X40.  This versatile helmet can be worn as an open-face, full face, with or without a full-length visor and peak. It has a 100% carbon fibre shell, so is ultra light, weighing just 1100g in open-face form and 1400g as a full face. The Nexx X40 will be available from ForMotorbikes.com and will cost £249.95.

To celebrate the forthcoming launch of the new Nexx range, ForMotorbikes are giving away three exclusive Long Way Down/UNICEF buffs, signed by Charley Boorman.  ForMotorbikes have made a donation to UNICEF.
