Web comedy series for bikers

Ever wondered why there are no comedy series about bikers? After all, we all know that biking culture is full of wild and passionate eccentrics who live and breath biking – fertile ground for affectionate satire and parody!

Well wonder no more. Meet “The Clandestine” theclandestine.tv, a new comedy series for the web set in Belfast.

“The Clandestine” is about a group of bike geeks who form a secret outlaw motorcycle club out to exact revenge on all those who have persecuted them over the years.

Think “Sons of Anarachy” meets “The Office”, the show features killer motorbikes, sexy ladies, geeks doing dangerous stuff, a great sense of humour, and a soundtrack packed with music from the best up and coming bands in the Irish rock scene.

Produced by Northern Irish company Video Hacker, the show is being funded using an innovative financing strategy – crowd funding – asking people and companies who want to support the show to invest in it for various nominated rewards and benefits.

The goal is to reach at least $25,000 within the next few weeks to fund the next 11 episodes. The producers Joseph Campo and Darryl Collins have already funded and shot the first two episodes and put them online at http://theclandestine.tv/.

The next 11 episodes are already written and will be shot during the summer for release online in the Autumn. Other funding is expected from Northern Ireland Screen who helped finance the pilot episodes.

If all goes to plan the team plan to shoot multiple series in the coming years. To get more details about supporting the project, and see the first episodes visit the project’s Kickstarter page http://kck.st/TheClandestine and ‘Pledge’ your support.

The show is designed to appeal to motorbikers, and is attractive to motorcycle and motorcycle culture brands.

Initial feedback on biker forums has been very encouraging. With over 50% of the budget already covered, sponsors can be more easily courted for the remainder of the budget.

Gingerparts.com – www.gingerparts.com – based in Northern Ireland is already confirmed as a brand sponsor.

Other businesses and individuals can get involved in sponsorship by pledging money, with a range of benefits from your name in the credits, HD digital downloads of each episode as they come out, HD download of the whole series once it’s finished, to a limited edition WANOYFBH (We Are None Of Your f****** Business Hombre!) hoodie and right up to various benefits on product placement and advertising and a lot more.

So if you like what you see, put your hand in your pocket and tell all your friends!
