Bad drivers are everywhere

I ride all year round and see examples of bad driving every day. I have to look and think for me and the other driver as well.

Aggression
Car drivers are way more aggressive these days, speeding up when being overtaken, not even slowing at give way signs, if you get there first you have right of way, its the new law on the street. Some of this falls into dangerous driving if caught doing it.

Impatient
They will only wait so long, once they have waited long enough they will pull out.

Lazy
Not giving way when passing parked cars, you may have right of way but if they see a bike, they know you will have to move over. When did it become OK to reverse out onto a main road? Cutting corners even into oncoming traffic – it’s the new national sport for lazy car drivers.

Statistically speaking every time you are out on the road there are drunk drivers, drug drivers, mobile phones users, people eating and drinking behind the wheel.

All illegal but mostly common place, add aggression, laziness and impatience into the mix and it’s a recipe for the more vulnerable road users to look out.

It is amazing the way people will justify their abuse of the highway code. Late for work or an appointment must be the most common excuse for some of the madness we all see every day.

Why not just get up sooner and leave earlier, you will be amazed the difference it makes!
