The acclaimed new edition of MCN Sport is out now, and to celebrate here’s some ridiculously cool wallpapers.

1. Sheene on the crest of a wave
Barry Sheene waves to the crowd after winning the Race of the Year in 1975. The year had started badly when a spectacular crash at the Daytona 200 in March left him with a broken left thigh, right arm, collarbone and two ribs. He was racing again seven weeks later.

This is one of many images by former MCN chief photographer Clifford McLean reprinted in the new MCN Sport for the first time in over 30 years.

2. Dominant Doohan
Dominant, indefatigable Mick Doohan on his way to his fifth and last 500GP world title in 1998. We won’t see the likes of him again, or so we thought… Stoner’s genius meets Doohan’s in the new issue of MCN Sport.

3. Catch me if you can, Joey
Ray McCullough in action at Tournagrough in the the 1976 Ulster Grand Prix. Always a reluctant hero, McCullough’s achievements (109 wins across 24 years) nevertheless place him alongside the sport’s greatest riders.

4. Back off, wall
Because Michael Dunlop sure ain’t going to. The younger Dunlop brother demonstrates the grit and precision that’s seeing his talent ripen to full maturity, at the Southern 100 this July.

But if he’s the inheritor of Ryan Farquhar’s crown, he can expect somewhat less than a friendly handover, as MCN Sport’s double interview reveals.

5. Nice and easy does it
Stoner demonstrates why we’re on the verge of another era of Aussie dominance. This is his first time out on the 2012 RC213V, at Brno in August. He effortlessly undercut the lap record by 0.5sec on a far from finished bike.
