Stirling’s scooter up for grabs

Fancy getting a chance to own Sir Stirling Moss’ personal transport? But this is no vintage Aston Martin or classic racer, it’s his personal scooter.

The modest W-reg Piaggio ET4, with less than 2000 miles on the clock, was used by Moss as his paddock bike and on the streets around London and is up for auction at Silverstone next week.

Also available is a three-wheel Messerschmitt KR200 Kabrio. The lightweight bubble car is expected to achieve between £13,000 and £18,000 at auction, Moss’ scooter for £6-8000.

They’re among the lots at the auction at Silverstone’s Wing starting 5pm on July 23 and forms part of the Silverstone Classic weekend.
