Strip action at the Bulldog Bash!

1 of 2

One of the true joys of the Bulldog Bash is enjoying a cold beer while breathing in the stench of burnt rubber drifting across the Shakespeare County Raceway’s dragstrip on a hot summer’s day.

This year’s annual celebration of all that’s good about bikes, bands, beer and babes, will be bringing the glory of drag racing to the masses – and the true beauty is that you can get involved!

The Run Wot You Brung (RWYB) competition takes place all weekend, giving you the perfect opportunity to prove that your nitrous Busa WILL crack a sub-10 quarter-mile, or that your clutch really was on the way out, as the unusual aroma of scorched clutch plates rises from your engine…

The superbly-surfaced Raceway is open for RWYB runs between 9:30am and 5pm on Friday and Saturday, and between 9.30am and 1pm on Sunday.

To make sure you’re safe to run up the strip, all bikes must pass scrutineering by the organisers, which begins at 8:30am Friday and continues throughout the RWYB sessions as the crowds and queues gather.

The costs for RWYB are just £10 per day Friday, Saturday and Sunday – and that’s for unlimited runs within the day’s sessions. Might we respectfully suggest you take a spare rear tyre if you’re planning on a day full of runs?!

The drag strip is also hosting some top displays from professional stunters over the weekend. The full roster of madness includes pretty much everything your could hope and think of, ranging from formation wheelies and doughnuts, to top fuel dragsters screaming down the strip, funny cars, Nitrous Harleys and Sikorsky powered Fireforce Jet Cars.

Put aside a few hours to soak up the atmosphere and breathe in the fumes… And then rock the night away in the music tents.

The Bulldog Bash, this year celebrating its silver jubilee, is held at Shakespeare County Raceway, near Stratford, Warwickshire, and runs from August 11-14.
