MCN’s pothole campaign working

1 of 2

MCN’s pothole campaign is working.

We’ve been searching for the country’s worst pothole in a bid to keep pressure on local authorities to maintain the roads through this winter’s freezing temperatures.

Now the first pothole to be highlighted, on Ashton Road in Oldham, Lancashire, has been fixed – after the local council read about it on this website.

In an email to MCN, Oldham Council says: ‘It certainly was a hazard, and we fixed it as soon as we saw it on the MCN site.’

The council has promised to ‘get on this kind of thing straight away’ and says potholes can be reported by phone, email or using a mobile application available at www.tidyoldham.co.uk
