BKS made-to-measure unaffected by Frank Thomas situation

Recent news that the Thomas Sport Group has become a casualty of a deepening recession does not affect the fortunes of BKS (Made to Measure) Ltd.

The Thomas Group is parent to the Motrax, Frank Thomas and BKS off-the-peg brands, and has been in administration since late-January.

In 2008 the brand name rights to the BKS name were bought by the Thomas Sports Group, who took over the production of the brand’s off-the-peg leathers, while BKS (Made to Measure) Ltd remained a separate company.

Brian Sansom, founder of BKS, remained involved in the off-the-peg company, however, monitoring the construction and quality of the suits under Thomas Group ownership.

But BKS’s made-to-measure services are, and always have been, a separate concern, and are not affected by the news of the Thomas Group’s plight.

Sansom remains in charge of BKS (Made to Measure) Ltd, which, beyond surviving is actually on the up, having recently hooked a huge deal to supply the Metropolitan Police Force with its made-to-measure riding gear.

Of his made-to-measure company, Sansom said: “We’ve just received a big order for the Met Police, who have about 800 police motorcyclists. We have very healthy order books, and we’re taking on new staff.”
