Oilskins from Draggin Jeans combine water-resistant fabric with a highly abrasion-resistant Kevlar lining.

They’re made from a fabric called ‘Fortress’ ­ a lightweight cotton impregnated with a special oil, to be wind- and rain-resistant while retaining its flexibility. The oiling process is also claimed to allow sweat to pass through.

The jeans’ protective lining uses Kevlar and Dyneema and is secured with heavy-duty triple stitching in key impact areas. CE-approved armour can be fitted to the knees and hips.
