Ride a Desmo at Oulton Park

Is there a cooler bike in the world than the Ducati Desmosedici RR? Well, apart from the motorcycles used by health workers to deliver health care in rural Africa, we aren’t sure. Now Riders for Health, the official charity of MotoGP, are giving one lucky person the chance to use an immaculate Desmo on track for a whole day.  

Riders for Health are putting the chance to spend a day riding the incredible Ducati up for auction at Day of Champions at Silverstone, on Thursday 17th June 2010.  

The winning bidder will attend a track day at Oulton Park on Friday 6th August 2010, where they will be looked after by Ducati UK. The bike will be ready when you arrive and will be set up and managed by the team from JHP Ducati, Coventry.

The bike is being donated for the day by Riders for Health supporter and Desmo owner, Paul Hocking, who says:

“The prize would be the ultimate in Ducati “arrive and drive” track day heaven, with the “VIP” treatment and use of an immaculate Desmosedici RR for the whole day. JHP Ducati will be there to take care of running the bike, which will be fully serviced and “on the button”. All the person has to do is pledge money and turn up!”

For a chance to bid on this great day out, make sure you are at the Day of Champions auction where it will be among the many fantastic items going under the hammer. The annual event raises money for Riders for Health’s work in Africa. The organisation mobilises health workers in Africa, training them in motorcycle riding and maintenance, so they can reach remote villages with regular, reliable health care.

As well the famous auction, which always provides an incredible end to the day, ticket holders will also enjoy all the entertainment on stage, including interviews, quizzes and live music from British star James Toseland and his band Crash.

Tickets for Day of Champions are only £15 for adults and with free tickets for anyone under 16, it is a great day out for the whole family.
