Fat bloke on a moped

1 of 1

I’m a 20 stone newbie biker that has decided to ride an underpowered bike to raise money for charity.

I’ve been stirred into action because at 38 years old, my wife was diagnosed with pre-cancerous cells in her milk ducts which resulted in her undergoing a double mastectomy in May this year.

Thankfully, she has since been given the all clear.

This year I’ll be riding around the border of Norfolk on a 125 Honda Pantheon scooter in aid of the breast cancer charity, Keeping Abreast, and in the summer of 2011 myself and a small team will endeavour to circumnavigate mainland England, Scotland and Wales while sticking as close as possible to the coast roads, all on mopeds/scooters.

For the Norfolk circum-navigation, taking place on the 25th September 2010, I’m looking for as many riders who’d like the challenge of the ride.

The ride will start at 10am on the 25th September from the Southery village pub called the Old White Bell in West Norfolk (approximately 17 miles South of King’s Lynn and 25 miles North of Cambridge on the A10) and follow a predetermined route anti clockwise around Norfolk.

At some point during the ride, you will catch up with the Moped/Scooter riders (i.e.: me) who set off the day before and kipped over in Gt. Yarmouth.

I’m asking for a £10 donation to the Keeping Abreast charity, payable at the start/finish line and although sponsorship isn’t required, it would be very welcome. Raising awareness is just as important as raising funds.
