Wycombe Motorcycle Action Group fund raising

For the past 13 years a local motorcycle group going by the name of the Wycombe Motorcycle Action Group (who meet at the Stag Public House in Flackwell Heath) have been raising funds for the localised charity Berks Oxon and Bucks Air Ambulance, formally known as the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance.

The outstanding work of this group has inspired me to help them to help an amazing charity and it is my understanding that over these past years they have raised somewhere in the region of £23,000.

In 2009 the funds raised for this charity were just in the region of £4,000.00 which in this financial climate was rather good from only about 500 people who had come to the weekends fun and games as well as all the towns folk who reached into thier own pockets and purchased a raffle ticket or two.

There will be a small stall placed in Frogmore during this coming May and June for 4 weeks which will be done every other weekend to bring awareness about the group and charity as well as for the sale of raffle tickets.

The grand prize will be a brand new 125cc motorcycle and one lucky winner will hopefully be at the show and presented with his or her bike.

In past events there have been a numerous amount of stalls from High Wycombe and further afield selling their wears from all sorts of clothing to food stalls as well as of course the Air ambulance themselves.

From personal experiance the Air Ambulance isn’t just for those unfortunate people that are involved in the unthinkable road traffic accident but they also attend to people just doing some fitness, riding thier beloved horse or even the elderly of our great town who may be injured by a fall.

Wycombe Mag, as I believe, are trying with all their hearts to try and bring more awareness to these saints of the skies so they are able to keep this life saving service alive.
