New Steve Plater replica Arai

Arai has just revealed its plans for a replica of British Supersport champion Steve Plater’s distinctive helmet for this year.

Although pictured here on the top-of-the-range RX7 GP shell, the replica will be produced on the more affordable Chaser helmet, around the £399.99 mark.

Contrary to popular belief, the design, although Doohan-esque in many ways, is actually based on the helmets worn by Team GB’s Olympic track sprint cyclists.
