Send us your snow stories!

MCN readers have been sharing their stories of biking in the snow – from being trapped at home to towing friends on snowboards.

Nick Bennett’s Suzuki DR-Z400 is the perfect bike to enjoy winter riding, and here we see his brother getting ready to be towed behind on his snowboard near Bradford.

Meanwhile Colin Tomlinson from Bathgate near Edinburgh sent in the most comical tale so far – his commute to and from the Scottish capital through four inches of snow went without a problem, then he got home, fell off on his driveway and crashed into his garage door.

He’s fine, but his bike has a bent brake lever and doesn’t sound right – we hope it’s a quick fix.

Steve Walton reports that he got caught out when he rode his Honda VFR800 to work, only for it to snow heavily during the day.

Fortunately he made it home in one piece, though he doesn’t recommend the VFR for snow riding.

Postman Ken Lawrence from Rainham in Kent has been continuing to ride through the snow on his bitsa 1991 Yamaha TZR250 two-stroke.

Built from a collection of parts, the only problem so far is the fuel cap freezing shut – easily solved by pouring hot coffee over the lock.

His partner Ruth is also getting through the slush on a hired CBF1000.
