Harley-Davidson 48’s European debut at Carole Nash MCN Motorcycle Show

Harley-Davidson’s new Sportster 48 has made its first public appearance outside the US at the Carole Nash MCN Motorcycle Show in London.

The new bike was unveiled at the end of last month, and is based on the basic design of the Sportster 1200.

The changes to create the stripped-back 48 consist of a wide 150-section front tyre with a new set of wider fork yokes to accommodate the bigger rim.

The speedo is mounted flat on the top yoke and the mirrors are mounted under the handlebars to give the 48 a flat-topped look.

The rear lights are incorporated in to the indicators, and there’s no pillion seat fitted to make the rear end look sleek.

The Harley-Davidson 48 will cost £7990, and it forms part of Harley’s plans to attract a younger audience. See it on stand N540.
