Why this bike? Its one of those things. I have always wanted to make one of these, but never found one available before.

Then one day I spotted and engine for sale on the internet, contacted the guy and it turned out he had a frame as well. I didn’t hesitate, bought them both and spent the next year sourcing parts and building the bike.

Modifications: This is generally a 1970s bike, but I have added some modern features to make it more reliable and a more usable bike. There is a new wiring harness in it and  electric ignition.

I have repositioned the battery underneath the gearbox to change the centre of gravity, added icon rear shocks and a number of other tweaks to make it more reliable.

Most of the metal work is custom and was made locally to me. It cost about £5,000 to £6,000 to make.

Favourite thing: Its just a lazy bike. It is great to ride, it is low revving, grunty, torquey engine and is effortless to ride. It looks uncomfortable, but its not once you get going.

What next? You’ll have to ask my wife if there will be a next! I would like to do a chopper next I think.

All 12 bikes will be on show at the Britain’s got biking talent stand (location 2B15) all week.
