Clocked wrong

Following your story concerning Ken Clark, who was summoned for exceeding the speed limit because he was the lead rider and another rider in his group was speeding at 103mph.

Mr Clark gets the same penalty as the second rider, he should appeal this in the Eurpeon Court.

If this case is allowed to stand, what happens if a group of riders are out and the lead rider is clocked at say 85mph, and suddenly a biker not connected to the group goes past them all and is clocked at 150mph then it’s curtains for the lead rider who has no control over the stranger.

How is he going to prove the person is not part of their group, because you can bet the onus of proof won`t be for the Police to prove the stranger was not part of the group, but I suspect the lead rider will have to.

What about riding schools teaching people IAM or ROSPA etc where one of them goes for an overtake just over the speed limit and the second rider does the same.

Both are clocked at the faster speed, absolutely stupid.

The case as I’ve said should be challenged in the Eurpeon Court. If this is allowed to stand then as your article pointed out this case can be used in future speeding cases.

What about a group of car drivers going to a meeting in convoy? I bet this doesn`t apply to cars breaking the speed limit in the same senario.

Yet again the biker is being victimised, . All bikers should rally round Ken to get this changed
