Smashed up on new test

I have just been released from Basildon hosp after crashing doing test (avoidance)in wet and windy conditions tuesday 8 45am. 4 smashed ribs and punctured lung with fractured shoulder blade. went thru cones at 35mph swerved right then as I swerved left honda cg went down slamming me into tarmac.

I had just watched a rider fail because they whent to slow and also locked up back wheel for a good 10mts on emergency stop I felt sorry for her but she did right to not hit 32 mph in the wet like I did.

I know I could do it in the dry but not when wet and why should it be a lottery decided by the weather, the examiner should reduce the speed requirements in the wet so riders can do the swerve safely. My trainers recommended staying in 2nd gear flat out to hit 32mph after coming out of approach curve, this together with the honda cg’s road holding and tires and my ‘got to hit that min speed requirement to get a full license’ probably added together led to my smashed body.

Well the dream of returning to bikes in my retirement is over I have had to promise my wife and kids never to ride again which is a shame because I can ride safely when left to decide what conditions and what speed I want to ride in.
