ABS no good?

I was reading MCN letters today and I was really surprised to read a letter saying that an ABS VFR rider overshot a stop line onto a roundabout as the brakes lacked power.

I used to own an ABS VFR and they do not lack braking power, unless of course the road is slippery, when it may prevent a crash.

Opinions – is ABS good, even though it may SEEM to lack power if on a slippery surface? If the road was not a poor surface, then surely you are approaching too fast for your bike and conditions?

Now I have a non-ABS blade, nut I would have bought the ABS version if it had been available last year.
