Road Death Texting Lord Escapes Jail

Lord Ahmed, 51, was charged with dangerous driving after using his mobile phone shortly before hitting a stationary car in the fast lane of the M1, killing Martyn Gombar, 28, from Leigh, Greater Manchester.

So let me get this straight. It is “OK” to text whilst driving and kill someone, but speed and you go to jail for six months? Robert Bennett who killed no one, injured no one is at risk of losing his home and his job, but this Lord who was texting whilst driving and killed someone gets away with it (basically).

As for there being little he could have done to avoid the collision; colour me stupid but he could have had his eyes on the road and not on his phone! Even if this Lord had gone to jail, it would only have been for six weeks! Beggars belief. Why are these people above the law? More here:
