Skidmarx celebrate TT success

For the second year running the winning bikes in the Senior, Supersport, Superstock and Superbike races at the Isle of Man TT were fitted with British-manufactured Skidmarx screens.

In a year that saw lap records broken, in spite of variable weather conditions, Skidmarx-supported riders were showing strong form from the outset.

During practice week Relentless Suzuki rider Cameron Donald recorded the first ever 131mph lap around the famous 37.73-mile circuit on his GSX-R1000 Superbike.

John McGuinness took his 15th TT win on the HM Plant Honda Fireblade in the Superbike race, setting a new official outright lap record with a 130.442mph circuit.

The following day Ian Hutchinson won both the Superstock and first Supersport race on his Padgetts Racing Hondas.

Steve Plater rounded off the week with a fastest lap time of 130.490mph and a win in the Senior TT on his HM Plant 1000cc Honda. All of them used Skidmarx screens.

In total more than half of all podiums in the 600cc and 1000cc classes were taken by racers who crossed the line behind a Skidmarx screen, as did every rider who achieved a 130mph lap.

Skidmarx screens are all manufactured at their factory in Weymouth, where the company also produces its range of after market screens for road bikes.

Retail prices for the race-derived double bubble screens start £49.95.
