GAP Security get Thatcham approval

GAP Security, the UK’s largest independent vehicle security dealer, is now a Thatcham Recognised Installer.

Following the recent demise of the VSIB (Vehicle Security Installation Board), Thatcham, perhaps better known for the testing and approval of vehicle security devices, stepped in to establish a new and improved accreditation for installers.

Thatcham believe strongly in the need for an industry standard for the installation, as without it, neither the consumer nor the insurer can be certain that the system fitted is operating and protecting to its maximum potential.

Thatcham states that this not only assures a quality installation but can dramatically reduce the possibility of a vehicle being stolen.

Guy Anderson, director of GAP Security stressed “For far too long, many consumers have been misguided into purchasing their security system based upon price, believing that the cheaper it is, the better!”

“However, we believe that a cheap price should be seen as a warning; if an alarm dealer is having to sell at a lower price, shouldn’t we be questioning why?”
