Video: History of Dainese D-Air airbag safety jacket

MCN’s senior road tester Adam Child has spent the afternoon with TT star Guy Martin as he tested the all new Dianese D-Air airbag suit recently revealed in MCN.
 
“It was a bizarre experience, more like the launching of a rocket rather than official testing of the new D-air suit.

“Guy was wired into a small control box, and after a space shuttle launch 3,2,1 the suit was activated.

“There was a startlingly loud bang, but on a race bike with ear plugs fitted you’d never notice. In fact it is hard to tell the difference between the new D-Air race suit and Guy’s normal leathers.”
 
Guy said: “It’s mega, the suit feels the same as my normal race suit. After about 10 seconds, the airbag goes back down and you could carry on racing.
