AWARE - Wales

1 of 1

Have you watched, or read, ‘Long Way Down (Around)’ documenting a motorcycle journey undertaken by the actors: Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman?

AWARE-Wales is a small non-profit making group assisting local charities in raising awareness and funds.

We will soon be venturing off on two motorbikes through 16 countries, within Europe, over 14 days, covering 5,000 miles (please see our website at www.awarewales.co.uk.

The challenge will begin from Cardiff, South Wales on Saturday, 12th September, returning on Sunday 27th, but we need your help!

WHAT CHARITIES ARE WE SUPPORTING

‘The Meningitis Trust’ – Chelsea-Summa, Daughter to Richard (junior rider) and Granddaughter to John (senior rider), contracted meningitis when she was a tender eight months old, even though – thankfully – she has made a full recovery, it’s a sad fact that others are not so fortunate.

Some are left with life long debilitating after effects such as loss of memory, limbs, blindness, deafness, behavior problems, and loss of life.

The Meningitis Trust provides life long services to those families by offering counseling, financial grants, home and hospital visits as well an ongoing community support.

‘Ty Hafan’ – AWARE~Wales feels that it is very important to highlight all the good work that the children’s hospice in South Wales has done over the past ten years.

We see children ill and dying in other countries often enough, but what of the children dying in Wales, who is there to help them? Ty Hafan provides a total approach to the care of children who suffer from life limiting conditions.

If there are only two words of comfort to say to the parents of a child who is expected to die in childhood, try these “Ty Hafan”.

SO HOW YOU CAN HELP

As a small non-profit making group, we are hoping that you will consider the value of our support to South Wales families and communities.

ALL donations that we raise will go towards helping those affected. Since 2008, we have hosted various charity awareness and fund raising events with other events planned.

So please take a look at our website (www.awarewales.co.uk) and think of the full involvement, commitment and organisation involved – all for no personal gain to AWARE~Wales, now think of how a little of your support would boost our cause.

If you have any further questions or requests, please do not hesitate to contact us, or you can contact the charities via our web site (Contact Us). It’s up to you!
