AGV Helmet founder dies

1 of 1

Founder of AGV helmets, Gino Amisano, has died at the age of 89 from bronchopneumonia.

Gino was one of the pioneering people to make the connection with sponsoring racers with the likes of Giacomo Agostini, Barry Sheene and Valentino Rossi all tied into the brand.

Amisano sold AGV, which stands for Amisano Gino Valenza, to pursue a career in producing wine.

In 2007 the historic AGV brand was then returned to Italian hands, with great satisfaction of its founder, when it was acquired by Dainese.
