RS Taichi airbag jacket available from March

RS Taichi will launch its first airbag motorcycle jacket for the road in March, using technology developed for its pricey T-RAPS race suit.

The leather jacket has double airbags on the neck and shoulders that deploy in under half-a-second when a wire attached to the bike pulls a pin on a gas canister in the jacket.

It’s the first road-going kit featuring the airbag set-up RST uses in its £1700 T-RAPS race suit, and is designed to connect to the firm’s GMX trousers.
