Are you Mr Average?

A new survey has smashed biking stereotypes to reveal that the average 21st century biker is a middle-aged, middle-class, professional family man with a beard and love of heavy metal.

This specially commissioned cartoon depicts Mr Average Biker proving he is streets away from iconic figures such as James Dean and Steve McQueen.

Mr Average Biker is generally six-feet tall, with brown hair, and a management job earning him around £30,000 a year.

Work and family commitments mean he only manages to ride twice a week, managing on average 7,500 a year, the survey conducted by insurance firm Bennetts has revealed.

He also has a 50% chance of having at least one tattoo, but only a 7% chance of having a ponytail.

He is also likely to have at least one car in the garage and have only been riding a couple of years, supporting the theory that biking is linked to the mid-life crisis.
