Suzuki GSX-R1000s ‘recalled’ for extra frame bracing
Updated: 19 November 2014
Owners of 2005/2006 Suzuki GSX-R1000s can to hear from Suzuki soon, following reports of frames cracking around the headstock.
VOSA hasn’t deemed the incidents – which occurred following ‘extreme situations’ including heavily-landed wheelies – worthy of a full recall, but Suzuki aims to fit every bike of the period with extra bracing.
All owners, including those buyers of used machines, will be entitled to a free inspection and same-day fitment of a brace. The brace weighs ‘less than a kilo’ according to Suzuki and fits behind and beneath the headstock.
