Not sure which bus lanes you can use?

I have lived in central London for years, moved out to the suburbs about 4 years ago.

I have been fully aware of bus lanes being made open to motorbikes. Now here’s the rub, I went out for a spin on my Aprila on my birthday in October and I recently got a £120 fine for riding in a bus lane.

On further investigation I have found out that only certain bus lanes are open to motorbikes. Why is this not made clear to everyone?

I was lead to believe that all bus lanes in Central London were open. I read the TfL website and at the bottom they have a statement: “It does not include bus lanes on borough roads. Decisions about these roads lie with the individual boroughs.”

I wish they made this more clear, is it worth fighting? Please can you make it clear in your articles when you talk about bus lanes to save any other people who unaware of this.
