New Transport Secretary supports motorcycles

New Transport Secretary Geoff Hoon has a history of supporting motorcycling, according to the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCI).

It means his appointment is good news for riders, the association said. 

MCI policy director Craig Carey-Clinch said the MP for Ashfield had been a member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Motorcycling, which works to promote biking.

“Before he was a minister he organised a mass lobby of parliament by riders,” said Carey-Clinch. “He has a past of being generally supportive.”
