BKS reveals 2009 range

The first Suzi Perry-designed motorcycle riding kit from leathers firm BKS is ready to go on sale.

Perry, who fronts the BBC’s MotoGP coverage, has designed a women’s jacket for BKS, which is looking to increase sales among female riders.

The Warwick jacket is waterproof and has a removable sleeveless thermal lining. A belt is fitted to the waist, and a choice of connecting zips for trousers are included.

The jacket is one of five new products shown exclusively to MCN this morning, ahead of the official launch of BKS’s full 2009 range.

Other items include the Benicia one-piece suit, which is made from leather measuring 1.3-1.5mm thick, with memory foam padding on the torso, stretch panels on the arms, legs, and neck, and external protectors on the knees and shoulders.

The Lancaster jacket is a bomber-style leather jacket featuring a cotton lining with a removable body-warmer. It is similar to the London jacket, a vintage-style leather jacket that features the same linings.

The textile York jacket rounds out the BKS preview. The jacket is waterproof and has a fixed mesh lining. Adjustors are fitted on sleeves and the waist, and it comes with long or short jean connecting zips.

All the jackets have CE-approved armour over the shoulders and elbows, while the Benicia has additional protectors on the knees and hips.
