What I want to know is why didn’t John Surtees get a knighthood when MCN wanted one for Valetino Rossi for his achievements?

John did the same plus a F1 world championship.

The only man ever to win world titles on two and four wheels at the top level. Stirling Moss got one for what not winning a World Championship.
