London Bike parking demo on Sunday

Westminster council have decided to start charging bikes to park in motorcycle bays within it’s boundaries. Could this be the thin end of the wedge? Probably yes.

Once this additional revenue stream is opened by one council, you can be sure the rest will all follow. What was once free will become chargeable. Unless of course they get scared off by a lot of people voicing their dissapproval of the plans…

If you’re near London, get out on your bike on Sunday to join the protest. Even if you don’t currently have to park in the affected area, you can be sure that if Westminster Council get away with this, the charge will not only increase, but also, before long your local council will also be charging you for parking your bike.
