MP hits out at new licence laws

Sussex MP Nigel Waterson, Conservative MP for Eastbourne, has lashed out at the thinking behind the new motorcycle test.

The outspoken MP said: “We have managed perfectly satisfactorily for many years running our own motorcycle tests so why do we need to import one from the EU which will cost millions of pounds? This is a ludicrous state of affairs.” Transport Minister Stephen Ladyman confirmed that Eastbourne is now among 67 locations earmarked for new “multi-purpose” test centres.
