What chance do we have?

After being a motorcyclist for 38+ years I have recently joined the ever-increasing ranks of the invisible motorcyclist. Yet another car driver pulled out of a side street straight in front of me. I was taken to hospital to be assessed and to receive the news that my left knee was smashed.

After six days in hospital I was released to find a letter on my doormat explaining that there would be no action taken against the driver as he admitted in his statement he did not “see me”. So after a phone call to the attending PC they said it was also not being taken any further as my injuries weren’t that bad (six months on crutches and at least a year before i can walk un-aided).

What chances do we have when this is the attitude of the police?
