Police fail to answer MCN

Ever wondered what MCN’s Investigation team go through to find out just what’s happened about a particular story? Check this audio file out of when MCN’s Steve Farrell asked South Yorkshire police why a speed camera staff member resigned after a criminal inquiry. 

Farrell asked why they couldn’t tell us, and they refused to answer even that question, too. 

According to allegations in local newspapers, it was over the “non-enforcement” of a speeding fine against a relative of the staff member, so we weren’t about to give up easily. 

Undeterred by the refusal to give up any other information about the case, Farrell asked why another 35 times before finally letting a sweating spokeswoman off the hook.
