DSA-approved training

The Driving Standards Agency has announced plans for a new register of approved Advanced Trainers at the press launch of the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show.

Ministers signed the go ahead for plans this week, following the publication of the Government’s Motorcycling Strategy to make motorcycling more mainstream. The scheme aims to ensure training is of an agreed standard and the instructors will have demonstrated a high level of skill and competence in riding and instructional ability.

If you’re attending the show you can find out more on this scheme, and also the new requirements for the motorcycle test, by visiting the DSA stand in Hall 18. There are also plans to introduce a PassPlus scheme for motorcyclsists, whcih could link to cheaper insurance for those who take advanced training.
