Supermodel and actress Elle Macpherson has joined forces with former MotoGP racer Randy Mamola to raise money for biking charity Riders for Health.

The Australian supermodel, who is also a keen rider, arrived in a Ducati leather jacket from their current range. She later signed and auctioned the jacket for £2,000 as well as the chance to have tea for two with the herself at a London hotel.

The evening was organised by London solicitor and Manches partner Alex Carter-Silk, a participant of Enduro Africa and supported by Ducati UK who donated a Paul Smart limited edition Ducati 1000LE signed by him, Elle and Randy.

Andy McNab, bestselling author and former member of the British SAS, also attended launching his new book RECOIL. He donated a percentage from each copy sold during the evening to Riders.

Mamola, also co-founder of the charity, said: “A big thank you to all the people who supported this event. A lot of people living in rural communities across Africa will be able to look forward to a healthier future because of the generous support of our work.”

The amount raised at the evening at Kinetica art gallery in London is still being counted but is expected to be several thousands of pounds.
