Dirt Bike Show success

The seventh Dirt Bike Show has been a success despite a drop in attendance figures, according to organisers.

Attendance figures are yet to be finalised, but initial figures show around 19,000 people turned out to see the acts and stands, similar to 2004 figures.

“The off road market has been very flat this year, so we had not expected to match last year’s record attendance,” comments a Promoto spokesman. “Ticket sales have dropped back to the 2004 level, which compares well to other national bikes shows that are down by over 10% for the same period.”

Companies, such as Arctic Cat and BMW who launched their G-series bikes were part of the show to attract the crowds from Thursday, November 16 to Sunday, November 19.

They were joined by regular off road bike and quad manufacturers.

Live action this year came courtesy of Steve ‘Mr Showtime’ Colley, the Xtreme Trials ‘Kickstart’ competition featuring the likes of Graham Jarvis and Alexz Wigg and Gary Taylor’s Freestyle MX stunt show.

The 2007 Dirt Bike Show will return to Stoneleigh Park between 22 and 25 November.
