Anti-skid surface breaks

1 of 1

A ROAD surface commonly used around the country can create a skid-pan effect for bikes, MCN has found.

The supposedly anti-skid surface is laid on roundabouts, at junction and in all the places where we’ll braking or turning.

The idea is to prevent crashes but in fact the thin surface can cause them by separating from the asphalt underneath in huge slippery flakes.

To see the damage it can cause and find out why this winter we need to be more vigilant than ever, read next week’s MCN available October 22.
