Fury over 'Book of Tricks'

The Greater Manchester Police’s ‘The Book of Tricks’, accused of bullying the public into accepting fines rather than disputing cases, has been shot down by the Advertising Standards Authority.

Paul Smith of Road safety campaign group Safe Speed said, “It is quite extraordinary – and totally unacceptable – to see the British Police playing fast and loose with information. The leaflet was intended to deceive, and as such is all too typical of the information surrounding speed cameras.”

Response to the leaflet has caused ruptions amongst both the public and organisations leading to calls for the end of the camera partnership and a rethink of the current road safety policy.
